Short bio
Damiana Salm is a Ph.D. student in contemporary history at the Albert Ludwig University Freiburg in Breisgau, Germany. Her research focuses on the pertinent issue of 'fuel poverty' from a historical perspective, specifically exploring the interconnections between poverty, energy consumption, and welfare within Western Europe at the end of the “Golden Age” (Eric Hobsbawm) of post-war economic boom. She is currently working as a research assistant at the Chair of Economic, Social and Environmental History. She holds a B.A. in German Language and Literature and History from the University of Berne, Switzerland, and an M.A. in Comparative History of the Modern Era from the Albert Ludwig University Freiburg in Breisgau, Germany.
